The meadows at Portmore Lough nature reserve near Aghalee are home to a thriving population of around 40 Irish hares. These marvellous mammals have made their homes here thanks to the work RSPB NI does to manage the land for threatened birds like lapwings.
This autumn, the Portmore team are granting access to a part of the reserve not usually open to the public to allow keen photographers to capture this ‘herd’ of hares on camera!
This unique event is always very popular so book your spot now.
